One of the fastest ways to growth is to study the brands doing well in your industry. You need to identify why they are succeeding or failing then use it to your own advantage. Check out all the social media platforms they use, what they say, how they say it, how often they post, how fast they respond to enquiries etc. A fast way to keep an eye on competitors is by using a social listening too.

  1. Conduct a social media audit:

If you already use social media, conduct an audit. Find out who is following you, the type of content they engage with. Then compare your presence with your competitors.

  1. Determine the type of content to post:

Once you have identified your target audience, what they like and you have checked out your competitors, you can now decide the type of content they will like to see. Remember, Social media is not just about you. In as much as you post content about your products and services, you MUST post contents they will directly benefit them and indirectly benefit you. For example, if you sell a skin care products, you can post contents like: 5 reasons you should moisturize your skin. If you sell a moisturizer, they will ask you for it.

  1. Create a content calendar:

No Social media strategy is complete without a content calendar. You need to have a plan in place to determine what  you will share and what time. What exactly do you want each content to achieve for you? Which content will you post to drive traffic to your website? Entertain your audience, share tips and tricks etc.

  1. Set KPIs

Finally, you need to determine how you will measure the performance of your strategy. This will help find out if your strategy is working or if you need to change it. Social media moves really fast and you need to move with it.
